ANTHRO NORTHWEST 4 ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY

Thank you for your interest in the Anthro Northwest 4 Art and Photography Gallery!

Show Guidelines

The art and photography is a complimentary service available to those whose artwork has been accepted for display. The gallery is primarily for viewing and enjoying of the pieces; however, artists may choose to display contact information and offer pieces for sale outside of the gallery.

If you are an artist or photographer, and you are unable to attend Anthro Northwest, you are still welcome to apply to show your pieces in the gallery. Anthro Northwest can also print your photos if desired. Art show entrants must have a representative physically present to hang and pickup art after the show. Photography show representatives are optional. Anthro Northwest is unable to mail artwork back after the show. Although efforts will be made to return all pieces, anything left after pickup closes will become the property of Anthro Northwest Charities.

As Anthro Northwest is an all ages event, please ensure that your work is suitable for viewing by all members. Generally, situations and attire shown in the artwork should be in compliance with the Anthro Northwest code of conduct. In some cases, exceptions may be made to preserve artistic integrity or facilitate presentation of difficult or sensitive topics. If you have any questions about the suitability of a piece, please contact Anthro Northwest before the show. In rare cases Anthro Northwest may remove items from the gallery.

Entrance Guidelines

Photos may be submitted already matted or framed and ready for hanging and display. Alternatively, you may submit a high-resolution file for printing and posting by convention staff. Please indicate your preference on the submission form.

Two-dimensional art should be mounted on backing board and ready for hanging and display. Framing or matting to fit standard frame dimensions is recommended.

Three-dimensional pieces should generally fit on a 3×3 foot area of a table. If electricity is required for a piece to be displayed properly, please inquire with the staff. It's recommended that you bring your own safety agency listed extension cord as these may not be readily available on-site.

Displaying Your Photos or Art

Display Spaces

Two-dimensional art and photos will be displayed on grid panels measuring 2 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Hooks and clips will be provided on-site. If you prefer not having clips contact the edges of your piece, then you must provide your own hanger or wire on the back of the piece for hanging on s-hooks provided. Adhesive or other hangers will not be provided. Artists are encouraged to enclose pieces in plastic film for protection.

Three-dimensional pieces will be displayed on folding tables in 3×3 foot area of a table. If a single piece is larger than this or may be too heavy or tall for a table (e.g., > 50 lbs) please inquire.

Set-Up

Please arrive during the designated set-up time. During set-up each piece will be listed in our inventory and can only be retrieved by the artist or artist's agent on record.

Take-Down

All pieces must be picked up by 6:00 pm on Sunday. To ensure all pieces go to their rightful owners, pieces can ONLY be picked up by the artist or artist's agent that submitted them. Pieces left after 6:00pm will become the property of Anthro Northwest Charities.

Art Transactions

Artists are encouraged to list prices or purchase information on their display cards for their pieces. However, business transactions are not allowed within the gallery space. The convention does not prohibit casual sales; however, you must comply with federal, state, and local laws should you wish to sell. If your sales of art during the convention are non-casual, you must have a temporary business license issued by Washington State. It will be up to the artist or photographer to meet with potential buyers and conduct financial transactions. The art or photo pieces will not be released to another party unless specific written instructions to do so are provided.

To comply with City of Seattle regulations, if you are offering any piece for sale, you must be an active Member of Anthro Northwest.
